The Northern Territory is Australia's truly outback destination. In the Top End experience the Northern Territory's tropical atmosphere. Feed hundreds of fish by hand at Darwin's Aquascene or come face to face to gigantic salt water crocodiles at the Territory Wildlife Park. Visit World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park with its amazing waterfalls and culturally significant indigenous rock art.

Further South in the Red Centre is Alice Springs, Australia's most famous outback town. There is plenty to see including the Aboriginal Art & Cultural Centre, Royal Flying Doctor Service and School of the Air just to name a few. At Yulara lies Australia's most famous icon, Ayers Rock or Uluru as it is called by the local Anangu people.

The Northern Territory has two climatic zones, the Top End experiences a tropical climate whilst the Red Centre experiences a semi-arid climate. In Darwin the average summer temperature is 32 degrees C during the day but this can be accompanied by very humid conditions. During the night the temperature is usually around 24 degrees C. In winter the daily temperature in Darwin is still around 30 degrees C but it is a lot drier and humidity is at its lowest. This is the most popular time to travel in the Top End. In Alice Springs and Ayers Rock daytime summer temperatures are often 35 degrees C and night time temperatures are 20 degrees C. In winter the daily temperature can be as low as 20 degrees C and the night time temperature averages a low 3 degrees C.
